New York Rangers

The New York Rangers are one of the Original Six teams of the National Hockey League (NHL), established in 1926. They were the first NHL franchise in the United States to win the Stanley Cup, capturing it in 1928, just two years after their founding. They added two more championships in 1933 and 1940. After 1940, the Rangers went through a 54-year championship drought, which became a well-known part of their identity and frustration among fans. During this time, they had several playoff appearances and notable players but couldn't clinch the title.

The drought ended in 1994, when a team led by captain Mark Messier, coach Mike Keenan, and stars like Brian Leetch, Adam Graves, and Mike Richter won the Stanley Cup in a dramatic seven-game series against the Vancouver Canucks. In the years since, the Rangers have remained competitive, with deep playoff runs in the 2010s, including a trip to the Stanley Cup Final in 2014, where they lost to the Los Angeles Kings. The team has featured stars like Henrik Lundqvist, Ryan McDonagh, and more recently, Artemi Panarin and Igor Shesterkin. The Rangers play at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan and have one of the most passionate and loyal fanbases in the league.
